Let's Prophesy- Bear (Part2)
We discussed in our previous blog how we must be holy and connected to God in order to carry out the prophecies. We are continuing the series on Bearing the Prophecies.
Do not neglect prophecies.
1 Timothy 4:14-16 encourages individuals to recognize and not neglect the spiritual gifts they have received, particularly in the context of prophecy. Every born-again believer receives the Holy Spirit who enables these giftings from God. The gift of prophecy is specifically mentioned as one of these gifts which all should desire.
In this world full of challenges and temptations, we need to turn to prayer and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, strength, and discernment. The Holy Spirit leads us in making the choices aligned with God’s will.
Write down the Prophecies.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 urges us to write down or record the prophecies that are coming to pass in our lives, to pray over them, and to wait upon the Lord to bring them to pass. And even if it doesn’t happen, we should Praise God instead of becoming discouraged since it wasn’t meant for us.
Remember that you can prophecy over your own life. Therefore, don’t wait for great prophets to announce your identity, last name, and account information. When they don’t shout our names, it depresses us because we begin to doubt whether God is really near us. For this reason, don’t rely on anyone and start prophesying over your own life.
Hold on to the Prophecies.
1 Timothy 1 :18-20 In this passage, Timothy is being reminded of the prophecies made about him and being encouraged to fight the good fight of faith. The encouragement is to trust in God’s timing, even if the fulfillment seems delayed.
The mention of Hymenaeus and Alexander serves as an example of those who needed correction to avoid blasphemy. The warning is about some individuals who rejected faith and a good conscience, which led to a spiritual disaster..
The Parable of Talents
Matthew 25:14–30 speaks about when the master is not around, he gives his employees talents (a financial unit) and expects them to manage these resources responsibly.
Believers are regarded as managers of the spiritual talents that God has given them, such as the gift of prophecy. It is their duty to use these gifts to do the will of God and to benefit the community.
Let’s all Prophesy
1 corinthians 14: 29-33 says if someone receives a revelation while another is speaking, the first speaker should stop, allowing for an orderly and considerate flow of communication. The purpose of prophecy is for everyone to be instructed and encouraged.
The passage concludes by emphasizing that God is not a God of disorder but of peace, indicating that the practice of spiritual gifts, including prophecy, should contribute to the overall peace and well-being of the Christians.
