The Tent Church is based in Margao, one of the major cities of Goa. We are passionate about Worshiping the Almighty God, Discipling people in the teachings of Jesus Christ and Witnessing LIfe-Changing transformation in the lives of those who are part of our family. We believe that churches and nations will be transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit in the days to come.
About Our Pastor
Pastor Andrew David Fernandes is based in Goa. By the grace of God, the Tent Church was first started by his family in his house on 22nd March 2020. He is blessed to have the complete support of his wife Sally Anna Fernandes in his walk with Christ for the last 30 years. God has blessed them with three beautiful daughters – Drewsall, Lyan and Ansa.
Ps Andrew David Fernandes also wrote and released three songs— Tum, Not Alone, and Lauta— unveiling his hidden gift for songwriting. With passion and purpose, his musical journey has just begun, And many more songs are yet to come.
My Journey with Christ
I am originally a Goan, born in Mumbai but brought up in Goa. I did not have a great education but always felt a pull towards Jesus. I met my saviour personally when I was 18 years old in Mumbai. This was a traumatic time for me because I had just lost my father. My Father was a tailor and I followed in his footsteps as the burden of supporting my family was upon me. Eventually I took the profession very seriously and by the grace of God, I am now a renowned fashion designer in Goa and across the world in the name D’ZINERS bespoke Pvt Ltd. My journey as a businessman has enabled me to learn to depend upon the Lord Christ Jesus more than my skills and abilities. 20 years back my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ led me to attend a fellowship that worshiped God in spirit and in truth (God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth – John 4:24 ). This was a Born again congregation based in South Goa (Jesus Christ The Cornerstone Church), which helped me to understand the Lord much better according to the scriptures. I was encouraged by Pastor Victor Affonso and his wife Julie Affonso to lead the fellowship as a pastor for over 15 years. I have a great respect and gratitude towards them and consider them to be my spiritual parents. It was an amazing experience to serve our God under their leadership over my life.
During the LOCKDOWN time, God spoke to me and my family in a very special way. He put a desire in us to serve Him in a higher calling. Therefore we took a decision to step down from the leadership at the Cornerstone fellowship. After the LOCKDOWN opened we decided to meet in the city of Margao at our Auditorium, The TENT. This premises was given to us by our Lord Christ Jesus in 2018 and we were using this place for the fellowship of Cornerstone church. As We believe that our God is a God of PAST, PRESENT & THE FUTURE, He knew much before that we would need a place and He had already planned to give us this place to use for His glory and purposes.
Today we are one of the growing church in Goa. God is adding more and more new people to our fellowship. We have an amazing worship team and a fabulous youth group of young people from different walks of life. We have friends who support us whenever we need help. Mr Caleb Ellis from Mumbai and Mr Fransis from Tender heart foundation (Goa). We have a team of elders in our congregation who are amazing people. The TENT CHURCH is registered under the religious act of India. We want to support the young pastors in different cities of Goa who can be part of our vision so that we can expand the kingdom of God in different cities under the banner of The Tent Church.
